What You'll Do
as a TGA Volunteer

TGA volunteers serve in a range of roles, depending on the event and their experience level. Rules officials observe play and handle on-course rulings. Scorers and recorders keep the competition running accurately. Starters and standard bearers work directly with players throughout the round. 

No matter the role, you'll spend the day at a great course doing something that matters to the people competing.

You Don't Need to
Be a Rules Expert to Start

Many TGA volunteer roles don't require rules certification. For those who do, the TGA hosts workshops throughout the year to help you get there. If you're interested in becoming a certified rules official, the path is straightforward. Start with a TGA rules workshop, build your knowledge, and work your way into officiating roles over time.

Where You Can Help Most

TGA championships take place across Tennessee from spring through fall, from the Tennessee Amateur to the Women's Open to the Senior Four-Ball.
